Make this summer one to remember with Chattahoochee Valley Libraries’ Summer Reading Program: Color Our World! It’s a season-long celebration of reading, creativity, and imagination—with something for every age.
It’s easier than ever to join in. Young children and families can track books read by coloring their paper logs, while older kids, teens, and adults log every 15 minutes of reading. Each completed log earns a prize and counts as an entry for our Summer Reading Grand Prizes!
Prefer to go digital? The free Beanstack app lets families track reading, earn badges, and even receive credit for attending programs. Got a competitive reader at home? Use Beanstack’s leaderboard to see who can log the most minutes each week!
And don’t worry—“reading” doesn’t just mean books. Audiobooks, online articles, podcasts, and even museum exhibit labels all count. Reading happens everywhere!
Here are some fun ways your family can Color Our World and help us reach our community goal of 2,000,025 minutes read:
- Listen to audiobooks together on road trips using the Libby or Hoopla apps from CVL.
- Pair screen-free time with puzzles or crafts while listening to a story or podcast.
- Explore creativity with DIY books like How to Be a Color Wizard by Jason Logan—or follow along with a new blog or recipe.
- Visit a local museum with one of our passes and count time spent reading labels and maps as part of your log.
- Join us for events like Columbus Public Library’s Cozy Read-A-Thon (June 25, 10am–7pm) or the Color Our World Family Stories series at North Columbus and South Columbus branches.
- Get hands-on with crafts during the Color Our World Summer Craft Series at Mildred L. Terry Library and special programming across all CVL branches.
Let’s make reading a colorful adventure for the whole family—and reach 2,000,025 minutes together!
