
Get ready, Dawg fans! The rich legacy of Georgia Bulldogs athletics is coming to town as the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries welcome the "UGA Athletics in Your Town" traveling exhibit to the Columbus Public Library on Thursday, June 26 from 11 AM to 4 PM.
This one-of-a-kind experience invites local residents and sports lovers of all ages to explore over a century of Bulldog pride through a dazzling display of historic memorabilia. From championship moments to legendary athletes, the exhibit showcases treasures from the University of Georgia Athletic Association archives—all brought to life by Jason Hasty, Athletics History Specialist from the UGA Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Hargrett Library to bring this incredible exhibit showcasing Georgia’s athletic heritage to the Chattahoochee Valley,” said Tiffany Wilson of the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries. “It’s a fun, hands-on way for fans and families to dive into Georgia’s sports history—right in their own backyard.”
From old-school jerseys to rare photos and game-day programs, this free, family-friendly event offers something for every Dawg devotee. Hasty, who curates the archives in Athens, is excited to connect Georgia communities with the university’s storied past. “The UGA Athletic Association archive contains more than a century of the physical history of UGA Athletics,” he said. “This traveling exhibit allows us to share some of the most fascinating pieces with fans all across the state.”
