The School District will provide, under certain conditions, additional sick leave days to employees who have exhausted their own sick leave credits. A sick leave bank shall be established and maintained from participating employees' voluntary contributions of accumulated sick leave established in accordance with provisions of O.C.G.A. §20-2-850. All participating employees shall make equal contributions to the sick leave bank, which shall be available to all eligible employees of the School District who would otherwise qualify to receive sick leave benefits.
The Superintendent is responsible for the formulation of administrative procedures for the operation of such a sick leave bank – establishing membership, administrative, and governance requirements for the bank. All decisions at the Superintendent level regarding the sick leave bank shall be final and shall not be subject to appeal to the Board of Education.
