CAC readers (DOD / military card readers) are available as an accessory to plug into library desktop computers and other devices. USB port required.

Library Services
Use desktop computers for free with a library card or guest pass. Computers use a Windows-based operating system and connect to the internet. Please see computer use policy for details.
Computer classes and/or 1-on-1 tech assistance available.
Copy machines are available at all locations. Copies are black and white and cost 10 cents each. This is determined by the local library board. It is 10 cents in all counties except Marion County where it is 20 cents each.
External disc drives are available for use inside the library branch only. You must request the drive from staff member.
Electronic magnifiers offer zoom, contrast, and brightness adjustments. Magnifier can be found in the adult computer area, but it is not a computer.
Laptop computers are available for checkout with a library card. Laptops check out for 3 hours at a time and may not be be taken outside the library building. Laptop computers use a Windows-based operating system and connect to the internet.
Microfilm readers are available at The Columbus Public Library in the Genealogy and Local History Department.
Black and white prints are 10c per page. Color prints are 50c per page.
Patrons may use copy machines to scan documents. Scans are made in color. There is no cost to scan documents. Scans must be saved to an external drive through a USB Type-A connection.
All Chattahoochee Valley Libraries locations offer free WiFi access to patrons. Wifi can be accessed without a password while inside or outside of the library buildings.
SmartALEC is the library’s new mobile printing service. It allows you to send documents to print at the library from anywhere you have Internet access.
