In anticipation of the grand opening of the newly-renovated South Columbus Public Library on South Lumpkin Road, the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is announcing the following schedule adjustments for the end of August and September.
For the past twenty-two months, SCPL has been operating out of temporary quarters at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 1973 Torch Hill Road. The adjustments listed below will accommodate packing up all materials and supplies at the temporary location and relocating them to their permanent home at 2034 South Lumpkin Road in Columbus.
MOVE SCHEDULE
The last day for full SCPL service at the Our Lady of Lourdes location will be SATURDAY, AUGUST 31st. After moving, SCPL will re-open to the public in their renovated and expanded branch on Tuesday, September 17th. A grand opening celebration will be held for the community on Saturday, October 19th.
TEMPORARY SERVICES AVAILABLE DURING THE MOVE
SERVICES AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE MOVE
Through use of CVL’s Bookmobiles, library service to the public will still be available Tuesday-Friday September 3-6 and Monday-Friday September 9-13 between the hours of 10:00am and 2:30pm. The Bookmobiles will be located at the Our Lady of Lourdes location. Patron services will include:
- Pick-up of any requested materials (known as “holds”)
- Return of any library materials
- Circulation/check-out of any books and materials on the Bookmobile
- Use of computers
- Limited Black and White printing
In addition, a Book Drop is available to use at Our Lady of Lourdes for patrons to return materials at any time of the day. It will remain available until the branch re-opens at its South Lumpkin permanent home.
