Looking for a new family adventure?  All you need is a library card to check out passes for free or reduced admission to great destinations in Georgia. Visit Zoo Atlanta, the Center for Puppetry Arts, The Michael C. Carlos Museum or any of Georgia’s  63 state parks and historic sites. All passes are limited to adult borrowers only.

 

 

 

The Go Fish Education Center located in Perry takes visitors on an educational journey through Georgia’s watersheds to learn about our diverse aquatic wildlife, their natural habitats and the impacts of water pollution.  Beyond that, the Center serves as a great resource of fishing information for any level of angler – where to go, what to use and when.

The Center for Puppetry Arts‘ mission is to  touch lives through the art of puppetry.

The Center’s live puppetry performances, hands-on workshops, and guided museum tours provide creative arts experiences to students that aren’t available in classrooms while also providing teachers with opportunities to infuse the arts into their curriculum goals.

 

Our pass provides free admission for up to 4 guests or 25% off an All Inclusive Ticket

  • All Inclusive Ticket includes tickets to a puppet show

GA State Parks Pass

Our pass provides free parking for one vehicle at any state park

It also covers admission for four to any historic site operated by GA State Parks, Recreation & Historic Sites (see brochure for complete list)

Our Zoo Atlanta pass provides free admission for 4 people for MONDAY – FRIDAY

  • (children under 2 are admitted free)
  • DVD checks out for 7 days, pass is good for 28 days
  • Late fee: $1 per day   Replacement fee: $50

Patrons must first check out an informational DVD. When this is returned, fill out a pass form for the patron and staple the check in receipt to that pass. Zoo passes must be used within 28 days of receipt. Beginning January 1, 2018 the Zoo Atlanta pass is good for Monday-Friday and not on the weekends.  Only adult patrons may check out the zoo pass, and only once per year.

Spend the day a world away at the Michael C. Carlos Museum.  With the Michael C. Carlos Museum pass you can explore collections of Egyptian, Near Eastern, Classical, ancient American, African, and Asian art, as well as its important body of works of art on paper from the Renaissance to the present.

  • Our pass provides free admission for  up to six guests
  • Pass is good for 7 days with one renewal allowed
  • Late fee : $1 per day  Replacement fee: $50
  • Restrictions- The pass is not valid for events, program fees, or audio tours.

  • Teen Cosplay Workshop

    When: Tuesday, July 24, 2018 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
    Where: Columbus Public Library at CB&T (side B)

    Are you interested in cosplay, but don't know where to start? In this workshop, you will get the chance to socialize with other cosplayers and learn tips and tricks as we create cosplay accessories for upcoming conventions. Some materials will be provided, but you may also bring your own projects to work on.

  • Big Eyes, Small Mouth

    When: Wednesday, July 25, 2018 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
    Where: Columbus Public Library at Teen Department

    Come along on epic adventures, fight monsters, and meet princesses in this anime-fantasy style roleplaying game. Event open to teens ages 12 to 18.

  • End-of-Summer Splash Bash!

    When: Wednesday, July 25, 2018 - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Where: South Columbus Public Library at Conference Room

    Did you meet your summer reading goal? Come celebrate with us at our outdoor water party! Bring your wet suit, sunscreen, and a towel and be prepared to get soaked. Children and teens of all ages are invited.

  • Anime Club

    When: Thursday, July 26, 2018 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
    Where: Columbus Public Library at Teen Department

    Eat ramen and other delicious snacks while we watch a different series of anime each time. Event open to teens ages 12 to 18.

  • Read & Play Storytime

    When: Monday, July 23, 2018 - 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
    Where: South Columbus Public Library

    Join us in the children's area as we have fun listening to stories, signing songs, and repeating rhymes, all while you and your little one(s) learn. Interactive crafts and playtime immediately follow the program! Adult caregivers and children age 0-5 are invited to attend.

  • Tiny Tales (0-24 months)

    When: Monday, July 23, 2018 - 11:05 AM - 11:35 AM
    Where: Columbus Public Library at Synovus (side A)

    Tiny Tales is a fun program that introduces babies and toddlers to books and language activities. Parents are encouraged to take on the role as their child’s first teacher. Activities may involve stories, books, rhymes, music, movement, finger plays, puppets and educational toys.

  • Minecraft Monday (Ages 6-12)

    Tired of fighting Creepers and running from Enderman? Want some interactive fun, both online and off? Join us for an immersive Minecraft experience full of fun crafts and free play! No registration required.
