Columbus Public Library is Precinct Voting Location

The Columbus Public Library is the designated voting location for precinct 102/Carver for the Muscogee County SPLOST special election.  Voting will be held from 7:00am -7:00pm in Synovus/CB&T Meeting B.  CLICK HERE for more information about the special election and other voting precincts.

Author SUSAN ORLEAN To Speak In Columbus

SUSAN ORLEAN is set to appear in Columbus as part of the weekend-long gala for the Muscogee County Library Foundation. Acclaimed for her novel The Orchid Thief as well as her reporting in New Yorker magazine, Orlean will speak to Columbus audiences about her work including her current novel-in-progress The Library Book. Her free public appearance is entitled “For the Love of Libraries:  A Writer’s Journey” and will take place at 1:00pm on Sunday, February 1st in the Columbus Public Library Auditorium, 3000 Macon Road. No advance reservations are required for this event. Copies of Ms. Orlean’s books will be for sale, and she will be available to sign her work after her presentation.

Friends of Libraries Schedule Brown Bag Book Sale For October 18

Do you need a great price on a great read?  Join the Friends of Libraries on Saturday, October 18th for its 2014 Brown Bag Book Sale.  Buy a brown bag for $3 or $6 and fill it to the top with gently used books. There will be thousands to choose from. The sale will be held at Columbus Public Library located at 3000 Macon Road from 8am-5pm.  MasterCard, Visa, and Discover will be accepted at checkout.  Money raised will support a wide range of library programs and the purchase of new materials.
