Kiryû, Japan Student Artwork now on display at Columbus Public Library

The cities of Kiryû, Japan and Columbus, Georgia have enjoyed a “sister city” relationship since 1977. And the latest iteration of that friendship is now on display at the Columbus Public Library.

The Kiryû, Japan and Columbus Cultural Art Exchange stages a yearly art exhibition in both cities featuring work from students.

This year’s exhibition can be seen in the Children’s Department at the Library. It features the work of the Japanese students with their interpretation of important sites in their city. It is joined by artwork featuring personal themes from students at Spencer High School.

The display, which will be open to the public through March 31st during normal Library hours, is coordinated by CIRCLE, the Commission on International Relations and Cultural Liaison Encounters.
