FREE Tax Preparation Assistance is available!

While Covid-19 restrictions prohibit the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries from hosting free tax preparation assistance in our branches this year, our service provider AARP Foundation Tax-Aide and our community partner Goodwill Southern Rivers are both offering FREE virtual tax help to our community.

Do you just need forms? Your branch library has many of the most common forms available for pick-up. Just give us a call to be sure we have what you need and then drop by or use our curbside pick-up for assistance.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will offer FREE tax preparation and filing assistance to those who are 50 or over or who have low to moderate income. All preparation volunteers are IRS-certified. Sessions will either be virtual or, as is allowable by current community standards, in-person with social distancing. An updated web tool for scheduling your session will be available via www.aarpfoundation.org/taxaide beginning February 15.

Our community partner Goodwill Southern Rivers is also hosting it’s annual IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This program is specifically for those that earn less than $57,000 annual income. VITA sessions can be done a number of ways – in person, virtually, via drop-off service or you can even do your taxes yourself with guidance from our volunteers. Complete information and sign-up options are available at www.goodwillsr.org/vita.
