COLUMBUS ARTISTS’ GUILD OPENING NIGHT RECEPTION AND MEMBERS’ EXHIBITION AT THE COLUMBUS PUBLIC LIBRARY AUGUST 4 – AUGUST 17
The Columbus Artists’ Guild, an organization supporting and encouraging the visual arts in the Chattahoochee Valley since 1950, is pleased to announce their annual Members’ Exhibition for 2018.
The 2018 Exhibition will be held at the Columbus Public Library, 3000 Macon Road, in the Grand Reading Room located on the second floor. In addition, a special display of art created by area youth will be concurrently displayed in the Library’s Children’s Department.
The public is invited to the Opening Night Reception and Awards Presentation to be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, August 4th. Music and free hors d’oeuvres will be served. During the following two weeks the exhibition will be available for viewing at the following times:
The Opening Night Reception and the Exhibition are free of charge, and no reservations or tickets are necessary.
For the Exhibition, each member of the Guild can submit one piece of their artwork created during the past year. There are several categories (such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed arts/various media) and thousands of dollars in prize money at stake. Over 100 artists participate annually. For the second year, there will be the popular “Young Adults Exhibit,” an opportunity allowing children 17 and under to participate in the show.
