Children’s Outreach Services

The Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is committed to being your partner-in-education. Whether in your buildings or ours, our specially trained Children’s staff look forward to working with your and your students to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.

We would love to visit your classrooms or media center with one or more of our programs!  Please contact the Columbus Public Library’s Aflac Children’s Department at (706.243.2813 or cpl-chd@cvlga.org ) for more information or to be connected to your neighborhood branch.   Please allow 2 weeks’ notice of your need to allow enough time to schedule staff.

Outreach Services

STORYTIMES especially for Pre-K – 2nd Grade
We’re the storytime experts! We’ll bring a whole storytime kit with us to help serve up the fun. Each program will consist of 1-2 age appropriate
books, songs, crafts, games and more. All of our storytimes can be carefully crafted to fit a particular curriculum, theme week, or school focus. What a great addition to your busy school day!

STEAM TIME especially for 2nd – 5th Grade
Based off of our very popular STEAM Kits and Musical Instruments collection (all of which are available for checkout at your Library), these programs explore the sciences, math and creative problem-solving. Programs can be tailored to fit any curriculum and theme and focus on unique connections between science, literature and art.

Take a FIELD TRIP to the Library!
Yes, you can bring your students to us! We will be happy to create a special Storytime or STEAM program especially for your class. We’ll also give you a guided tour of our building, including a peak at what’s available in our other departments. Your group can bring your own lunch and eat with us as well.

Bus Transportation reimbursement is available for Muscogee County School District schools. Please be sure to ask for complete details.

Parents’ Nights, Special Events, and More!
Hosting an open house, parent-teacher night, STEAM night, or something similar? We’re would love to attend and talk to students and families about the Library services and Family Literacy. We can also set up a Library Booth to talk to parents and hand out educational material and program guides.

*For staff scheduling please allow 2 weeks’ notice.
