Who We Are

The Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is a seven-branch system that serves more than 250,000 people in four counties, Muscogee, Chattahoochee, Marion and Stewart. The Library system is the most widely used cultural institution in the region, with more than 120,000 residents holding library cards.

The Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is owned and operated by the Muscogee County School System, but has its own board of directors, with the members appointed by the School District Board.

Vision Statement

The Library serves a community of four markedly different counties of informed and engaged citizens who support vital economic development while preserving the values of the past and enriching the quality of life for all.

Mission Statement

The Library plays an essential role in the community as a trusted resource and center for civic engagement. The staff provides services that are accessible, convenient and responsive to community needs by using traditional formats and innovative technologies.

Values Statement

The Library’s best resource is its staff. The Library is committed to attracting and retaining a world class, highly motivated cadre of professionals to be the catalyst that connects people with resources. The Library will provide opportunities and support for staff members to grow to their full potential.
