Strategic Plan Goals

3 Years:  2018 – June 2020

GOAL 1:  AWARENESS

We tell the library’s story to increase awareness of events, resources, and services.

STRATEGIES:
  1. Determine who we are serving through market research and community dialogue
  2. Develop and implement  a comprehensive  marketing plan
  3. Our staff will know what we have to offer and look for opportunities to share with customers
  4. Retain and further engage existing users and stakeholders

 

GOAL 2:  EARLY LITERACY

We engage with our community partners to ensure that children under five years old gain essential literacy skills for kindergarten readiness.

STRATEGIES:
  1. Convene community groups to establish needs, gaps, and best practices for early literacy
  2. Identify and implement strategies for assisting families with children who are most at-risk for being inadequately prepared for kindergarten
  3. Advance the dialogue around the importance of early literacy and its impact on our community

 

GOAL 3:  STUDENT SUCCESS

We deliver resources, technology, events, and services to support student success.

STRATEGIES:
  1. Create opportunities to further student literacy and support parents in engaging with their children
  2. Build incentives and interest in reading

 

GOAL 4:  DISCOVERY

We are a hub of discovery, facilitating engagement around ideas and experiences through events, resources, and services

STRATEGIES:
  1. Identify collaborative opportunities to increase breadth, depth, and diversity of programming
  2. Expand our capacity to engage customers with events, resources, and services
  3. Create strategies for maximizing the overall library experience

 

GOAL 5:  ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

We advance economic opportunity for individual and community organizations. 

STRATEGIES:
  1. Provide customized assistance  for  job seekers
  2. Provide community spaces for work, study, enjoyment, and expression
  3. Provide convenient access to resources and services which meet community needs
  4. Deliver educational initiatives to help break the cycle of poverty
