Renew and Reserve Items

Renewing Items

To renew or reserve items, click here.

Materials may be renewed any of 3 ways. You may renew items by accessing your Library account online, calling the 24 hour renewal service at (706) 243-2717 or visiting the Circulation Desk at any of our locations.

To renew items online:

    1. Open your Library Account.

a. My Account

    1. This will bring up the Login Screen. Enter your:

a. Borrower ID – Barcode number from the back of your Library Card.
b. PIN – Usually the last four numbers of the phone number you gave when you registered.

  1. Click Login.
  2. You will see an Account Overview screen.
  3. Click Items Out.
  4. Check the box on the left of the title(s) you wish to renew.
  5. Click Renew at the bottom or top of the left-hand column.
  6. Your items are now renewed. You should notice the due date for that item has changed.
  7. While you are still logged in on your account, you may check for blocks (fees or overdue fines), review your list of requested materials or search for other items to request.
  8. When finished, click Logout.

Note: You may receive a notice that says “One or more of your items did not renew,” which means:

a. You have tried to renew the item(s) too many times. The renewal limit for books is 4 times. The renewal limit for movies and music (CDs/DVDs/videos) is one time. You should return the item(s) to your nearest Library.
b. Another customer has requested this item. It should be returned promptly to your nearest Library.

Please call the Library at: 706-243-2669 if you experience any problems renewing Library materials.

Place an Item on Hold

    1. Open your Library Account.

a. My Account

    1. This will bring up the Login Screen. Enter your:

a. Borrower ID – Barcode number from the back of your Library Card.
b. PIN – Usually the last four numbers of the phone number you gave when you registered.

  1. Click Login.
  2. Click the Search tab.
  3. Search for the item you want to request.
  4. Click the Place Request button.
  5. Choose the pick up location for the item and click Submit Request.
  6. If there is a waiting list for the item, it will tell you how many requests are on the item. Click Continue.
  7. A message saying “Your request has been placed” will appear. You can return to search results to search for additional items or go to your list of hold requests.
  8. When finished, click Logout.

You may request up to 20 items.
