THE MARGARET CARNEY TEA AND MUSIC SERIES RETURNS TO THE COLUMBUS PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Valley’s most delightful concert series returns to the Columbus Public Library this May! Join us at 3:00pm on Fridays for TEA & MUSIC, the wonderful concoction of concert and lecture performed by the faculty, staff and students from the Schwob School of Music. Free hot tea and refreshments are provided by the Muscogee County Friends of Libraries. Bring your teacup!

All concerts take place in the Columbus Public Library Auditorium, 3000 Macon Road.

This year’s performers include:

May 4, 3:00pm – YUNONA TABALA, Violin

May 11, 3:00pm – ZACHARY MacDONALD, Saxophone

May 18, 3:00pm – JUAN COLLAZOS, Piano

May 25, 3:00pm – KIRK-JEARVIN HABANA, Saxophone with ANDREW HARRY, Piano

Performers are subject to change.

Coordinated by Dr. Kristen Hansen, Associate Professor in the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, these concerts combine lively historical and musical  perspective with quality performances that have entertained Columbus audiences for the past ten years.

The concert series is named to honor the memory of longtime Library volunteer Margaret Carney. She was devoted to many library programs and helped establish the initial Tea & Music concerts.
